Gianluca Costantini
lives and works in Ravenna, Italy. A san illustrator and cartoonist he has published his works in many Italian magazines and dailies, includine Il Nuovo Male, Blue, Il Manifesto and
Internazionale, as well as foreign ones such as Babel (Greece), Kuhinja (Serbia) and World War III Illustrated (United States). Since 2002 he has headed the Italian Comic magazine
inguineMAH!gazine and has edited various pubblications by international graphic novelists such as Phoebe Gloeckner, Danijel Zezelj and James Kochalka. As of the early 1990s he has exhibited his
works at numerous collective shows in Italy, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Portugal, Turkey and France; at international comic festivals such as Lucca Comics, Stripburger and
Angoulême; at art events such as the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterraean; and at private Italian galleries, includine Viafarini (Milan), Miomao (Perugia) amd A+A (Venice).
Costantini’s most recente solo exhibitions confirm his multifaceted and cross-cutting character, as he works in both the visual arts and comics. Noteworthy shows include Political Comics (Athens,
2006), Banda desenhada politica (Lisbon, 2006), Sangue in Algeria (Perugia, 2008) and Channeldraw (Belgrado, 2008).
